About Lynsey

Lynsey is the founder of Maine Ganja Yoga. She is a nature lover, ski fanatic, organic gardener,  dog mom, and recovered addict.
Lynsey began studying and practicing yoga while detoxing from opiates in her early 20’s. Being without painkillers left her suffering with chronic pain, and facing the mental components of addiction. She began reading from literature such as The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and the Bhagavad Gita, and implementing meditation into her daily life. As she regained her health, Lynsey began embracing modified versions of yoga asana (postures) as a means of physical therapy to help heal her body in a way that was safe and balanced. In 2016 Lynsey completed her first 200 hour teacher training training with Deborah Koehn on the Big Island of Hawaii. Lynsey returned to the Big Island in 2017 for a 300hr CEU course completing her 500 hour RYT with Yoga Alliance and returned again for a 300 hour course immersion with a focus on therapeutic applications of yoga, and practical neuroscience in June of 2018. In January of 2018 Lynsey began studying Reiki and is constantly exploring and applying new natural healing techniques to enhance her practice and teaching.  In August 2018 Lynsey completed a 100 hour CEU Ganja Yoga Teacher Training course through Ganjasana and Yoga Alliance.

"The most significant thing that I have learned from studying Yoga is that our bodies are attuned to the Divine, and are valuable teachers if we can become disciplined enough students to listen." -Lynsey Tamposi, founder of Maine Ganja Yoga
